Get trail ready with the best gifts for female mountain bikers handpicked by a female mountain biker!
As a female mountain biker myself, I know how picky I can be when it comes to choosing great gear for me and my bike. Clothes need to be comfortable and functional but also flattering for a woman’s body.
Mountain bike gear, like packs and gloves, can’t just be ‘shrink it and pink it’, if you know what mean.
I’ve spent a lot of time (and money) seeking out the best gear for lady shredders and in this post, I round up my top picks for the best gifts for female mountain bikers.
1. Delicate F*ing Flower Socks
$14
I have these socks and I absolutely love them. I will say they’re not the best quality for taking out on the trails, but I love wearing them, especially if I’m shredding with a bunch of dudes.
2. Frame Protection Kit
$23+
Add some pizazz to your bike with some fun frame protection kits. I’m boring and usually just choose clear, but here are some companies that offer more interesting and colorful options:
- Groundkeeper Custom (custimize your own)
- Muc-Off
- All Mountain Style
- DYEDBRO
3. HANDUP Gloves
$29
HANDUP gloves are my absolute favorite mountain bike gloves. They come in super fun patterns and they have witty quips across the palms like “One Lap Pony” and “Ride Dirty”. They are unisex, so measure hand size before buying.
4. Park Tool Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repairs
$29.99
I’m a big proponent of doing your own bike maintenance and repairs. Sure, it’s intimidating at first, but with Park Tool’s Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair and a few YouTube videos, you’ll be off bleeding brakes in no time.
5. Wera Hex Wrench Set
$52.50
Encourage your female mountain biking friend to pick up some tools and start wrenching on her bike. This fun, multi-colored Wera Hex Wrench Set is a great start for basic repairs and maintenance.

6. Patagonia Wild Trails Sports Bra
$69
There’s a lot of jostling and movement involved in mountain biking, so keep the girls nice and secured with the Patagonia Wild Trails Sports Bra. I have a small chest and it works great for me.
7. Muc-Off 8 in 1 Bicycle Cleaning Kit
$70
Keep your mountain bike nice and clean with this Muc-Off 8 in 1 Bicycle Cleaning Kit. It includes an environmentally-friendly wash, post-wash protection spray, sponge, and 4 different brushes.
8. Fox Enduro Sleeve Knee Pads
$80
I wear knee pads every time I ride and these Fox Enduro sleeves are the only ones I’ve found that don’t slip down and are comfortable to pedal in. If you’re looking for elbow pads, they also make an Enduro Elbow Sleeve.
9. Ride Force Jersey
$80
For bike parks and really warm days, I wear my Ride Force jerseys. I love the loose, relaxed fit and the fabric has a luxurious, soft feel that is so light and almost ethereal. I will say that these jerseys aren’t the best for cool/cold days because they are so light and breathable, but they’re awesome any other time of year.
10. A Terry Saddle
$80+
A saddle makes all the difference when mountain biking, especially for women who tend to be more sensitive. I have several Terry saddles (including this Butterfly Ti) and they are the most comfortable saddles I’ve tried.
Use the Saddle Selector to find the perfect seat for your lady shredder!
11. Kaden Apparel Gryla Jersey
$90
The Kaden Apparel Gryla 3/4 Sleeve Jersey has quickly become my favorite top for every day mountain biking. The fabric is super soft and dries quickly so you don’t get chilled when stopped on the trail. The fitted 3/4 sleeves took a minute to get used to, but now I love the look and fit.
Kaden Apparel is women-owned and from Vermont (like me!).

12. Dakine Hot Lap 5L Lumbar Pack
$90
I’m not a big fan of lumbar packs – I prefer backpacks (see the Osprey Raven below) – but I know a lot of riders who do. It’s really personal preference. The Dakine Hot Lap is one of the best lumbar packs with an included 2L reservoir, 3 pockets for snacks and tools, and lots of fun colors to choose from. It also comes in a smaller 2L version.
13. POC Essential MTB Shorts
$100
The POC Essential Women’s MTB Shorts are my all-time favorite mountain bike shorts. The fit is perfect for athletic bodies and the leg length is long enough to cover my knee pads. I will say that these shorts are better for taller women (I’m 5’8).

14. Terry Bella Prima Chamois
$140
Good chamois are essential, so I was super stoked to discover the Terry Bella Prima Chamois. These chamois are the perfect gift for female mounatin bikers becuase they are really comfortable (unlike other chamois out there), the waist doesn’t roll down, and they’re long enough to be worn by themselves or under baggy shorts.
15. Oval Chainring
$140
I’ve been using an oval chainring on my mountain bikes for years and I really think they make a difference when climbing punchy obstacles or doing slow-speed tech. They’re expensive, but what woman-shedder wouldn’t want a rainbow-colored chainring to add a little bling?
(Note: There are SRAM and Shimano options).
16. Osprey Raven Hydration Pack
$155/$165
The Osprey Raven was specifically designed for female mountain bikers. It has a women’s-specific fit thanks to the shorter torso length and it’s got a ton of great mountain bike-friendly features like a tool roll, helmet clip, snack pockets, and more. Choose from a 10L or 14L size, each with an included 2.5L hydration reservoir.
17. Patagonia Dirt Roamer Jacket
$249
A lightweight, breathable, packable jacket for those iffy days on the trail, the Patagonia Dirt Roamer is designed spefically for women riders. It has a helmet-compatible hood, drop tail, water repellant finish to ward off light rain, and it only weighs 7.1 ounces.
18. Showers Pass EcoLyte Jacket
$300
For wet, cold winter rides, it’s nice to have a fully waterproof – but breathable – outershell to keep you nice and dry and warm. I love the Showers Pass EcoLyte Jacket becuase it’s 100% waterproof, but still has lots of vents for airflow and it’s specifically designed for mountain bikers with a helmet-compatible hood and a drop tail.
19. Fox ProFrame Full Face Helmet
$360
While I don’t wear a full face mountain bike on every ride, I definitely wear one at the bike park or on gravity-focused missions. The Fox ProFrame Full Face Helmet is one of the best (and best-looking) helmets out there and a great gift for your hard-charging lady friend.
20. Ladies AllRide Gift Certificate
2-day camps are $495+
I coach with Ladies AllRide and I have to say that these two-day camps are the highlights of my year. They are so much fun! And, of course, you learn a ton and women away with so much more confidence and skills. A gift certificate for a full or partial camp is one of the best gifts for female mountain bikers you can give.
