Looking for a bike-friendly place to stay in Bentonville, Arkansas? You’re not alone. Ever since Bentonville declared itself the Mountain Bike Capital of the World, riders from all over have been flocking here to hit the trails. And as the biking scene has grown, so has the number of hotels and rentals that cater specifically to mountain bikers—think bike wash stations, secure storage, and trail access right out the front door.

In this post, I’m sharing some of my favorite bike-friendly places to stay in Bentonville, whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or a longer trip.

What Makes a Stay “Bike-Friendly”?

As a mountain biker, I’ve learned that not all accommodations are created equal, especially when it comes to traveling with your bike. Sure, you can stay just about anywhere, but a truly bike-friendly place makes your entire trip smoother, more fun, and way less stressful.

Here’s what I look for when choosing where to stay in Bentonville (or really, any mountain bike destination):

  • Secure Bike Storage: First things first: I want to know my bike is safe. Whether it’s a dedicated bike room, in-room storage, or a secure garage, I always look for a place that takes gear security seriously.
  • Bike Wash Station: After a long, dusty day on the trails, especially if it’s been muddy, a hose or bike wash station is a game changer. The last thing I want to do is drag a filthy bike into my room or spend 20 minutes wiping it down with a hotel towel.
  • Close to the Trails: One of the best things about Bentonville is how easy it is to access trails right from town. I try to stay somewhere that’s either directly on a trail system (like Coler or Slaughter Pen) or within easy pedaling distance. No car required = major bonus.
  • Tools & Repair Options: Some hotels and rentals offer basic bike tools, pumps, or even a repair stand. While I usually bring my own mini toolkit, having access to extras is super convenient, especially if something unexpected pops up.
  • Rider-Friendly Atmosphere: I love places that feel like they get mountain bikers whether that’s bike-themed decor, a welcoming vibe for muddy shoes and tired legs, or just a host who rides and is happy to share trail beta.

Top Bike-Friendly Hotels in Bentonville

Bentonville has fully embraced its identity as a mountain bike hub, and a handful of hotels have gone out of their way to cater to riders. Whether you’re looking for something modern and stylish or more affordable and convenient, these bike-friendly hotels offer great amenities for two-wheeled travelers like us.

The Bike Inn Bentonville

If you’re coming to Bentonville to ride, this is the place to stay. It’s literally built for mountain bikers. The Bike Inn has secure indoor bike storage, a bike wash station, tools, and a relaxed, community vibe that makes it easy to meet other riders.

They have motel-style rooms as well as a few cool tiny cabins and even a “van camp” area if you’re rolling into town in your rig. It’s just a short ride to both Slaughter Pen and Coler, which is hard to beat.

Why I like it: Welcoming owners, laid-back vibe, nice outdoor community area, and everything revolves around bikes. Read my full review of the Bike Inn Bentonville.

Motto Hotel

The newest player in town, this compact and vibrant Hilton hotel balances modern style with adventurous connivence. It’s got a bike valet and secure storage thanks to a local partnership with 37 North Expeditions, so you don’t even need to lift a finger, just roll up and they take care of your wheels.

There’s also a communal Motto Commons area and easy access to the Slaughter Pen trails. After a ride, I love grabbing fresh brew from their Onyx Coffee bar, then heading up to Bar Kapu for a cocktail or sushi at Junto

Why I like it: Feels fresh and social with thoughtful bike amenities and walkable dining. Ideal whether you’re traveling solo, with friends, or even on a family trip.

21c Museum Hotel

This is where art meets adventure. 21c is an upscale, boutique hotel right in downtown Bentonville. It’s not a “bike hotel” in the traditional sense, but it’s surprisingly bike-friendly. They offer secure bike storage, and you’re just minutes from the Slaughter Pen trailhead. You’ll also be within walking distance of great restaurants, bars, and Crystal Bridges Museum.

Why I like it: It’s stylish and artsy but still totally chill about bikes. Great option if you’re traveling with a non-riding partner or want a more luxe stay.

Best Vacation Rentals for Mountain Bikers

If you prefer a bit more space (or you’re rolling in with your bike crew), a vacation rental can be the perfect home base for a Bentonville mtb trip. I love having a full kitchen, space to spread out my gear, and sometimes even a backyard for post-ride hangouts. Luckily, Bentonville has a growing number of short-term rentals that cater specifically to mountain bikers, with some pretty cool features built in.

Here are a few standout spots:

The Drop Inn | Sleeps 3

This cute bike-friendly rental in Bentonville is a perfect getaway for a couple or solo vacation. It’s a tiny home located right next door to the Slaughter Pen Trails with its own private access trail. You can literally wake up and ride! It also comes with secure bike storage, wall-mounted trail maps, and an outdoor hangout area with a fire pit.

Why I like it: The location is unbeatable, and the whole place is thoughtfully designed with mountain bikers in mind. Plus, it’s walking distance to downtown food and beer.

The Juniper | Sleeps 4

Modern, bright, and designed with intention, The Juniper is a beautifully renovated two-bedroom home just minutes from Bentonville’s top trails. It features a big garage for secure bike storage, a washer/dryer for dirty bike clothes, and nice outdoor porch seating for evening hangouts. Inside, the space is airy and well-appointed with a clean, minimal aesthetic and cozy common areas, ideal for relaxing after a big day on the bike.

Why I like it: It has a polished, peaceful vibe without sacrificing any of the MTB-friendly details. A great choice for families, couples, or two friends.

Mural House | Sleeps 6

This Bentonville rental has a great location to explore the Slaughter Pen trails. You can literally jump on singletrack from the house! It’s also cute with simple, no-frills decor and can sleep up to 6. If this one is booked, it’s a duplex so the other side might be available.

Why I like it: The location is unbeatable, and the whole place is thoughtfully designed with mountain bikers in mind. Plus, it’s walking distance to downtown food and beer.

WheelHaus on Monroe | Sleeps 6

Designed by mountain bikers, for mountain bikers, this stylish three-bedroom home nails the balance between comfort and functionality. It has secure bike storage, a bike wash station, and a well-stocked garage with tools for mid-trip tune-ups. Inside, the space is bright and modern with thoughtful touches like local trail art and comfy post-ride lounging areas. It’s less than a mile from the Slaughter Pen trails and just a short walk to downtown shops and restaurants.

Why I like it: It feels like a true rider’s retreat: well-equipped, perfectly located, and just a really good vibe all around.

The Pedaler’s Pad | Sleeps 7

This cozy rental was designed with riders in mind. It has secure bike storage, a bike wash station, and even a few tools on hand in case you need to do a quick tune-aaup. The house is stylish but low-key, and it’s super close to downtown and Slaughter Pen trails. There’s also a hot tub!

Why I like it: It feels like staying at a friend’s house, if your friend happened to be really into bikes and also really good at interior design.

Housesitting in Bentonville

One of the ways I’m able to travel so much—especially to mountain bike destinations like Bentonville—is through house sitting. I’ve done over a dozen sits around Northwest Arkansas, and it’s been one of the best ways to explore the area without spending a ton on lodging. Plus, I’ve gotten to stay in some beautiful homes, many of which are just minutes from the trails.

Bentonville doesn’t always have a ton of listings, but if you keep an eye out—especially around school breaks, holidays, or summer travel—you’ll see opportunities pop up. Most of the time, you’re taking care of pets, watering plants, or just keeping an eye on the house. In return, you get to stay for free and live like a local.

I use the service TrustedHousesitters and I’ve only had amazing experiences!

Flexible schedule and love pets?

One of my favorite ways to travel (and the reason I can travel so much) is housesitting. I’ve housesat in Bentonville many times as well as across the US and even globally! It’s truly a great way to see the world.

Camping & Van Life Options

If you’d rather skip the hotels and rentals and keep things simple, Bentonville has a few decent options for camping and van life (although not as many as you’d expect). Whether you’re rolling in with your van (like me), setting up a tent, or parking an RV, there are places that make it easy to stay close to the trails without spending a fortune, or giving up the things that make a good basecamp.

Coler Mountain Bike Preserve Camping

This is hands-down the best spot for tent campers and van lifers who want to be right in the heart of the action. The campsites are tucked into the woods just steps from the Coler trail network—and yes, you can ride straight from your tent or van onto the trails.

Each site has a fire ring, access to clean bathrooms and showers, and there’s a bike wash station nearby. Airship Coffee is also right up the path for your morning brew or a post-ride smoothie.

Why I like it: The vibe is mellow, the location is unbeatable, and you feel totally immersed in the Bentonville trail scene.

The Bike Inn – Van Camp Area

If you’re traveling in a van or overland rig (no big RVs), The Bike Inn has a dedicated “van camp” area just for you. It’s a small, private lot with hookups (water and electric), Wi-Fi, and access to all the hotel’s MTB-friendly amenities—bike wash station, tools, lounge area, bathrooms, showers, and more. Plus, it’s just a short ride to both Coler and Slaughter Pen.

Why I like it: It’s a perfect mix of DIY van life and a little luxury. You still have the freedom of your van but with access to all the good stuff.

Blowing Springs Park (just north in Bella Vista)

While this spot gets mentioned a lot because of its access to the Back 40 trail system, I wouldn’t call it the most peaceful camping experience. The RV and tent sites are pretty tightly packed with very little privacy. The tent camping is a little better because you can spread out on the grass. That said, if you’re mainly looking for a place to crash between rides and want quick access to trails, it does the job.

Why I like it: Close the the Back 40 and Blowing Springs/Alice in Wonderland Trails.

Boondocking & Free Options

If you’re trying to keep things low-cost or just prefer a more flexible setup, there are a few boondocking options around Bentonville. Within city limits, it’s a little limited—some van lifers overnight at spots like Walmart or Cracker Barrel in a pinch, but it’s not exactly scenic or guaranteed.

A better option is to check out Harvest Hosts and Boondockers Welcome. With a membership, you can find unique overnight spots like local farms, wineries, or private properties that welcome self-contained rigs.

There are a handful of listings around Northwest Arkansas that give you a more peaceful experience than a parking lot. I use Harvest Hosts and Boondockers welcome a ton when I’m traveling in my van, and I’ve used it to stay at several properties around Bentonville.

Apps like iOverlanderCampendium, and The Dyrt can also help you scout public land and less obvious overnight options if you’re willing to venture a bit farther out.

Are you a Van Lifer or RVer?

I use Harvest Hosts and Boondockers Welcome a ton when I’m traveling in my van. I’ve stayed at some pretty awesome locations from beautiful farms to peaceful vineyards. If you live life on the road, I highly recommend signing up!

No matter what kind of lodging you’re into whether it be hotel, rental, van, or tent, Bentonville has plenty of great options that make it easy to roll straight from your front door to the trails.

I’ve stayed in everything from boutique hotels to off-the-beaten path van spots, and what I’ve learned is this: having a bike-friendly place to come back to at the end of the day makes the whole experience better. I hope this guide helps you find the perfect home base for your next mountain bike trip to Bentonville—see you out there!
