Mountain bikers and cyclists have a unique set of needs when it comes to bike-friendly accommodations. Does it have secure bike storage? Is there a bike wash station? How far is the hotel from the trails? These are all questions I ask myself when I’m choosing a place to stay on my two-wheeled travels.
The good news is that many hotels and Airbnbs – especially those in popular biking destinations – are doing more to cater to mountain bikers and cyclists.
I had the pleasure of staying at the Bike Inn in Bentonville, which is one place that is going above and beyond for mountain bikers. In this post, I share my honest review from my recent two-night stay.

The Location
The Bike Inn Bentonville is located directly off Walton Boulevard about 2.5 miles south of downtown. To be honest, the location isn’t fantastic. It’s not really near anything and the motel is situated right off a busy main road, but this is definitely not a reason to skip staying here.
You will probably end up driving most places including the trails, restaurants, bike shops, etc… But what the Bike Inn offers definitely makes up for its slightly out-of-the-way location
Distance to
- Coler Preserve: 3.7 miles
- Slaughter Pen Trails from downtown: 1.8 miles
- Bella Vista (Little Sugar, Blowing Springs, Back 40 trails): 11 miles
- Downtown Bentonville: 2.5 miles

The Rooms
I love good design and cozy vibes when I’m staying at a hotel or Airbnb and the Bike Inn definitely delivers. The rooms are modern and chic with nice touches throughout like bike art, old bike tools and parts on display, comfortable furniture, and more. Each room also has great AC and wifi.
Room Details I Love
- Super comfortable Foreverbed mattresses
- Hanging PutUp Bike racks, which are made in Bentonville
- No single-use bathroom amenities – instead there are wall-mounted shower dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash
- Great shower pressure!
- Keurig coffee maker (sadly with single-use cups)
- All rooms are on the ground level, so no hauling your bike up stairs
I stayed in the “Boujee Bike Suite” which has a full living room, kitchen, and master suite.
My room was very clean, as would be expected, but I did find that the drawers and cabinets were in a bit of disarray with random leftover cups, plates, and utensils stashed everywhere.
For cooking, the Suite does have a little portable gas stove as well as a few pots and pans, but I think it would be challenging to cook anything more elaborate than some simple pasta or scrambled eggs. Besides, there are some great restaurants in Bentonville to check out!
Glamping pods
These 4 super cute glamping pods are the newest addition to the Bike Inn Bentonville. Jeremy and his wife were actually just getting them set up when I stayed, so I had a peek before they were ready to go.
Each pod has a double bed, AC, and an outdoor deck with chairs. They are pretty tiny, but you’re going to be out on the trails all day anyway, right? They’re also really cute!
For bathrooms and showers, there’s a building with two indoor showers/bathrooms just a short walk away. These are shared with all the pods and van campers.
Van camping
Bike Inn Bentonville has 2-3 van camping spots next to the pods that accommodate up to 25′ rigs. Each pull-in has electrical hookups and there’s water on site to fill up tanks.
Like the pods, van campers can use the indoor bath/shower house or there’s also an outdoor shower. There is no dump station.
Amenities
One of the best parts about staying at the Bike Inn Bentonville is taking advantage of all the cool features and amenities!
- A bike wash station with complimentary Muc-Off bike wash
- Two bike repair stations with an assortment of Park Tools
- A huge outdoor backyard with hammocks, fire pit, grill, lawn games, picnic tables, and more
- A gearbox vending machine stocked with all your biking needs like snacks, chain lube, multi-tools if you forgot yours, chamois cream, and more.
- An indoor kitchen and small hang-out area for guests staying in the pods or van camping
- Bike wash, repair, & outdoor shower
- Fire pit & hanout area is around the back
- Nice big backyard for games and chilling
- The bath and shower house for campers/glampers
The Bike Inn shuttle
The Bike Inn Bentonville also has its own shuttle bus! They do a First Friday trip up to Howler Bike Park in Missouri and you can ask them about private/group shuttles around Bentonville.
Other good-to-knows
- No pets
- Get a 15% weekly discount and 30% monthly discount
- No smoking of any kind inside
- Don’t be a dick (this is written in several places around the hotel and I think it’s great)
- Check-in at 4 pm and check-out at 10 am
My overall take
I was really impressed with the Bike Inn Bentonville and I’ll definitely stay there again when I find myself back in Bentonville. I think they did a great job with renovating the old motel and they’ve really thought of all the important things mountain bikers need like a bike wash station, tools, and comfy beds. The location was the one downside, but Bentonville isn’t huge, so it’s still easy to get downtown and access the trails.
The Bike Inn has only been open since September 2021, so I get the feeling that Jeremey and his wife are still getting things set up the way they want. I’m excited to see where they take it!
