Africa on Two Wheels
Africa is an incredible place. I’ve actually been fortunate enough to have traveled there twice – once to Kenya and Tanzania for nine months for a study abroad program in college and once to ride the K2N Stage Race from Kilimanjaro to Lake Natron. It’s hard to put into words the magic that Africa holds. There’s still a lot for me to explore, so fingers crossed I’ll get back there!

My Favorite Africa Biking Adventures
Africa Bike Travel resources
Planning a bike trip to Africa? Here are a few of my favorite pieces of travel gear and resources:
Dakine Bike Travel Bag
You’ll probably need to fly with your bike to Africa. I’ve been using my Dakine Roller Bike Bag for over 6 years and have safely transported my bikes on numerous flights. You can read my full review here.
Epic Bike Rides of the World
This beautiful coffee table book is packed full of incredible rides and cycling vacations across the world, including all across Africa. If you’re looking for the ultimate two-wheeled getaway, this book will surely inspire your next getaway. Where to first?
Grayl Water Filter & Purifier
You’ll need to either rely on bottled water while biking through Africa or filter and purify your water. I hate using single-use plastic and try to avoid buying water bottles whenever I can. Instead, I use this Grayl Water Filter & Purifier which removes protozoa, bacteria and viruses. (Note: you need the purifier, not just the filter).
